Early Literacy Book Activity Cards

Activity cards have been developed to accompany many well known children's books. Peruse almost 60 titles to find extended literacy activities for parents and children to share together.

The laminated book and activity card can be packaged in a clear pouch or presentation folder with matching children's book for loan to families at home. Early Years Literacy and Children's Mental Health created these cards to support families with infants and children up to six years of age. They include parenting tips to encourage early or emergent literacy skills as well as parenting suggestions to support children through the development of routines (bedtime and mealtime), toilet training, social and emotional skills (sharing, bullying, separation, childhood fears etc).

Book and activity kits have been used in Early Years Centres, mobile resource lending, Healthy Babies Healthy Children's home visitor program, Children's Mental Health home visitor programs, with Children's Aid Societies and Foster Parents as well as in nursery schools and daycares.
